🛠️ Fix AutoCAD Installation Errors
If you installed a modified or unofficial version of AutoCAD from an untrusted website, installation errors are quite common. Follow the steps below to completely remove AutoCAD and perform a clean installation.
✅ Step 1 – Uninstall AutoCAD Completely
Before reinstalling AutoCAD, remove the existing installation completely.
- Press Windows + R
- Type control and press Enter.
- Open Programs → Programs and Features.
- Locate AutoCAD.
- Right-click it and choose Uninstall.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Also uninstall these Autodesk components:

- ✔ Autodesk Licensing Service
- ✔ Autodesk Genuine Service
- ✔ Autodesk Single Sign-On Component

🗑️ Step 2 – Delete Temporary Files
Removing temporary files helps eliminate corrupted installation data.
- Press Windows + R
- Type
%temp%and delete all files. - Again press Windows + R
- Type
tempand delete all files. - Again press Windows + R
- Type
prefetchand remove the files Windows allows.
📁 Step 3 – Delete Remaining Autodesk Files
Even after uninstalling AutoCAD, some folders remain on your computer. Delete them manually.
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Autodesk Shared
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Autodesk
C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk
C:\Autodesk
After deleting these folders, restart your computer. In most cases, AutoCAD will now be completely removed.
⚠️ Step 4 – Clean Registry (Optional)
- Press Windows + R
- Type regedit
- Delete these keys if available:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk
Always create a registry backup before deleting any registry keys.
